Healers of Color Bay Area: Level Up! Healer's Hike

Are you ready to move forward as a stronger and more effective healer in 2019? Join us!

Because we are more powerful together.
Because healing is a communal activity.
Because the time is now!

The Bay Area Healers of Color Movement Chapter will host a healing hike for our local community. This hike will harness the energy of our collective power and universal love and light to replenish Earth, Self, and each other.

Through an intentional process of reconnecting to Nature and the elements in our surroundings we’ll ask to receive self care, honor the practices of permission and gratitude, and strengthen our individual relationships to Nature for the benefit of all.

This hike is also designed for healers to

- Exercise your intuition to solve your own problems and challenges with simple guidance
- Engage with your personal power and experience the agency you hold within your life
- Provide refuge from the noise of the world through a walking meditation held in the safety of nature and supportive community
- Reclaim the practice of communication that supports the cycle of giving and receiving, honoring the balanced reciprocity of natural laws

We welcome self-identified healers of color

of all backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of engagement with the healing arts to attend. The healing hike portion of this gathering will be facilitated by Transformational Coach, Raynelle Rino. Please feel free to bring your own tools and medicines to support your connection and presence to the experience.

We'll start by gathering in a more intimate location of the park. Most of the hike will be done in silence with some points of breaking into talking circle. Specific details about the trail will be given after registration. This hike is considered a beginners, low impact hike.

Please bring your own reuseable water bottle. Light snacks will be provided throughout the day by Nico Dacumos, Free for Real Kitchen.

Healers of Color Movement

We are a network of practitioners in the resistance, tapping into our resilience and abundance to shift these trying times. The Healers of Color Movement gathers self-identified healers of color to dialogue, build community, and collectively heal ancestral wounds, release ancestral weight, and create a movement forward for the benefit of all people and the land in which we walk our paths.

Our vision is to harness the power of our ancestral wisdom, honor and continue the traditional and indigenous healing practices to heal ourselves and each other in this global shift.

Raynelle Rino
A long time social sector professional, Raynelle began her career in the sciences as an ecology field researcher then moved onto environmental education and social justice at the grassroots organizational level in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her love for nature and youth development brought her to teach in unique settings like alternative high schools, environmental justice neighborhoods, parks, and juvenile justice facilities.

In 2016, Raynelle founded Rino Consulting Solutions, a nature-based consulting firm that provides coaching and consulting services for professionals and other businesses. It’s mission is to support and inspire the leaders of today to live in the confidence of their identities as they move through a world in the midst of social, racial, and environmental transformation. Raynelle is a graduate of Humboldt State University with a BS in Biology, a Rising Leaders and 2042 Today fellow, and lives in Oakland with her husband and daughter.

Nico Dacumos
Free for Real Kitchen is a home for traditional foods and ancestral ways of eating that promote health for body, mind, spirit, community and planet. Diagnosed with lupus and diabetes in his teens, Nico has been on a journey of healing for over half of his life. In 2013, he founded a bakery and catering business based on the belief that food is medicine and that our bodies function best when eating the ways our ancestors ate. In modern terminology, this means that the Free for Real menu focuses on ketogenic, paleo, gluten-free, low-glycemic and vegan recipes using organic or sustainably-produced ingredients whenever possible.

He is proud to feature the flavors and healing ingredients of his Mexican and Filipino ancestries and encourages others to find the healing traditions within their own ancestral cuisines. Nico hopes to lead through example as a decolonial cook, educating and feeding his friends, family and communities so that they can be happier and healthier as they fight for freedom for our peoples and to defend our Mother Earth.
